Alright ladies, we all know shopping for men is so much more difficult than shopping for your mom, sister, or girlfriends. Particularly if you’re very much a girly girl like myself, it can be difficult to know what they’ll like. I know I definitely have a harder time shopping for the men in my life than the ladies! Not to worry, because I’ve done the research for you. Whether the guy you’re shopping for loves video games or sports, there’s something in this list that will make him smile this holiday season! Special thanks to Mike (my boyfriend) for giving me ideas for this list. 🙂
For the Gamer Guy
This one is first in line because Mike is giving me the majority of these recommendations and gaming is his favourite hobby. That being said, he actually only had a few recommendations when it comes to gaming that really stood out to him.
First of all, if the gamer guy in your life has a switch, the Super Mario Odyssey game that just came out is one that people (including Mike) are very excited about. The game itself retails for around $80 CAD and is currently out of stock online, but if you go to your local EB Games or another video game store I’m sure you would be able to find it. If you were a 90s kid, you know the nostalgia that Mario games bring to the table. I’m not even much of a gamer and I still love Mario! The story lines are always fun and adventurous and will keep him entertained for a long time.
Second, a good gaming headset. There are different headsets depending on the console he uses or if he plays on a computer. I would recommend sneakily asking about different brands and styles to find out what he enjoys or checking out reviews on Amazon of different ones to make an informed decision. Mike plays a lot of games on the computer and uses this one by Corsair which is around $100 CAD, but also recommends SteelSeries as another great brand (this one is around $50 CAD).
For the Sports Lover
The fact of the matter is that a lot of guys like sports. Chances are the man in your life probably is a fan of at least some type of sport, whether he does it himself or likes to watch the big games on TV. Here are some sporty suggestions for the sports loving man you’re shopping for.
- Golf Polo by Nike – $70 CAD
- Men’s Training Hoodie by Nike – $68 CAD
- Men’s Training Tights by Nike – $42 CAD
- Ski Goggles by Zionor – $70 CAD
- Noodle Long and Soft Golf Balls by TaylorMade – $35 CAD
For the Groomed Guy
Maybe the special guy you’re shopping for has a beard. Or, maybe he likes a nice clean shaved look. Either way, a grooming kit is essential to keep his facial hair in check, no matter what his style. Funny story, I actually have used this shaver on my body, so I’m not just going off of recommendations from guys, I actually really like this one! I’m recommending the Professional Peanut Clipper by Wahl ($49 CAD, $38 USD). First of all, it’s powerful and compact, making it great for everyday use as well as travel. It also comes with four different sized clipper combs, making it perfect for whatever length of hair is desired. It’s a professional device at an incredible price (that rhymed, lol)!
Another great grooming gift for men in your life is a gift set with their favourite scent. There are so many value packs out there that include cologne, after-shave, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, you name it. They probably have it in your guy’s favourite scent! These are great because they’re easily customizable based on what types of scents he likes, they’re practical in that he’ll use these products in his daily life, and you can get something great under any budget!
